Changelog

What happened technically on my blog:

  • I created series! Building on these, I have defined a Changelog, which is just one such series.
  • There’s the possibility to comment now.
  • Newly, I am trying to write all my posts in german and in english. Technical posts are usually written in english and then translated to german, mainly due to the vocabulary being english. Few non-technical posts I write in german. Afterwards, I translate.
I did think about automatic translation multiple times already, but currently everything is tanslated manually.

Numbers of visitors

My tracking mainly happens via Plausible - with that I hope to get insights about my audience without harming their privacy. I obviously am particularly interested in popular posts.

The number of visitors is not very high; but since I am blogging as a hobby, I still am quite impressed:

  • Until June, I had somewhere around 100 visitors monthly.
  • From there on, the numbers increased steadily - with a record of more than 1000 visitors in november.
Here, it is probably important that somewhen in summer, I started to blog more regularly.

Posts

In 2025 I have written about 45 posts. Most of them in both german and english; some of the earlier posts only exist in english.

Most popular post is my setup of Forgejo Runner, closely followed by my first steps with Forgejo Actions and Docker. Both posts are still from 2024.
From 2025, my post about Pihole is particularly popular, as well as disabling Proxomx’s subscription popup.

For me personally, most interesting was my change in workflow through Pyenv - altough I realize that the post was not very popular, as there are loads of Pyenv-tutorials all over the internet. Renovate was and is also quite helpful for me, which I blogged about here, here or here. I learned about Nicegui as a nice way to create Frontends in a semi-low-code way. This also created some posts, like this one.

My plans for 2026

Nothing fancy, actually. Mainly: Continue as it currently is. Some of my next posts are nearly done; others are still in process and there are loads of ideas what to write about. Let’s see how this will go.

As of the contents, I would like to mainly stick to the subjects I am currently working on. This will of course change with my interests; maybe Kubernetes might come into play. But in general, there are no specific plans.

Thanks!

I mainly write for myself. Still, it’s really cool to see other people being interested in the same things and actually reading what I am doing. Thanks for your ninterest!
